Malaysia Study Visa Process
Applications for Malaysian student visas are processed through educational institutions. The visa approval and issuance stages are handled by the Malaysian immigration department. Here’s an overview of the visa process:
General Admission Documents:
Step 1: Application Submission
Applications are submitted by students to the educational institution where they have received admission.
Step 2: Immigration Department Review
The Malaysian Immigration Department reviews the application for the student pass and issues it based on the details provided by the educational institution.
Step 3: Student Notification
Students will be informed about their visa application status within 7 days of submission. Whether successful or not, the immigration status will be communicated by the educational institution.
Step 4: Visa Issuance
Once approved, students will receive their student pass, which allows them to study in Malaysia.
Documents Required for Visa Application:
Passport-size Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photographs of the applicant.
Student’s Passport/Travel Document: Photocopies of your valid passport.
Personal Bond: The educational institution signs a “Personal Bond” on behalf of the student. This bond ensures that the student will return to their home country upon the completion of their studies. No fee is typically charged for this.
Student Pass Application Form (IMM14): Complete and submit two copies of the IMM14 form.
Offer Letter: A letter of acceptance from the educational institution confirming that you have been accepted into a course.
